• Juice Water Detox

Drinking water all by itself is a good way to help flush the body of toxins on a daily basis, but with a few simple ingredients you can transform water into a detoxifying masterpiece and reap even more benefits from it. This is something you can make ahead for a quick grab or make fresh every single day.   As part of a broader detoxing program, I would recommend drinking atleast three pre-made water juice blends a day!  Each one of the ingredients listed here will provide slightly different benefits, so be sure to choose it according to the particular goal you have.  I prefer to use the original Ball Jam/Jelly Jars due to the reliability and functionality.  You can get them here.

Warm Lemon Water – One of the simplest and most effective ways to detox and boost metabolism every single day is by drinking warm lemon water in the morning before breakfast. This is an ancient Ayurvedic detox tradition that boosts the immune system, aids weight loss, and improves digestion.

Watermelon Detox Water – This one couldn’t be simpler to create, and is there anything more refreshing than watermelon on a hot day when you’re feeling sluggish? All you need is watermelon and water! The watermelon infuses the water, and when that happens, it creates a beautiful, subtle sweet smell and taste.

Strawberry Detox Water – Strawberries are a great way to add a familiar and preferred flavor to most anything, and in this case it can make your water taste better while also providing antioxidants and added vitamins and minerals to your body. This particular recipe includes oranges and mint as well. This makes it a great detox recipe to use in the summer when it’s easier to build up a sweat, and it’s only natural to have the taste of oranges and mint. It will help to make your detoxing efforts more enjoyable and seem like less of a chore.

Jillian Michaels Detox Water – You are probably familiar with Jillian Michaels if you’ve ever seen an episode of The Biggest Loser. She also promotes her own line of workout programs and diet books. Here she’s endorsed a particular detox water recipe that uses cranberry juice, lemon juice, and dandelion tea all mixed together with a lot of water. The end result is that it’s also supposed to also help you lose weight. This can really be said for anything that has a detoxifying effect, since getting back to our more natural and clean state will have the byproduct of weight loss if we’ve moved toward a heavier state.

Citrus Detox Water – This refreshing mix of citrus fruits with cucumbers and mint leaves creates a powerful infusion of vitamins that will have your body feeling a little bit lighter by the end of the day! Grapefruit is not as common as lemon and lime when it comes to citrus detoxing fruits, but it is just as beneficial, with plenty of vitamin C, potassium, lycopene, calcium and phosphorus.

Chia Detox Water – Now if you are up  for something a little different, give this a shot! You’re probably used to hearing about detox waters made from infused fruits and vegetables, but probably not seeds! Chia seeds are considered a superfood, providing a good hit of calcium and fiber, while helping to curb your appetite. When chia seeds are added to water, they swell enormously, creating a gel-like consistency, but this recipe allows enough water to be able to drink the energy-boosting concoction!

Carrot Water- This one is a double duo!  Adding the benefits of Keifir water to boost the probiotics, this little Gem is must!  Slightly sweet from the carrot and loaded with essential vitamins and a simple bubble is sure to delight your taste buds!  Simply Add your carrot juice to a 16oz bottle. (Make sure you use bottles such as thick glass bottles. Thin glass Bottles bought at craft stores can explode.)

    1. Add 14 ounces of Basic Water Kefir to the bottle leaving a small amount of room (about 1 inch) at the top. Seal your bottle.
    2. 2nd Ferment Water Kefir only needs to sit 1-3 days or until it becomes bubbly. Check it often by opening it to see if it is bubbly. (Warmer homes take less time)
    3. Once ready, you can drink or refrigerate for storing.  Make sure you drink within one week for optimal flavor and benefits.

Lemon Cucumber and Mint – One of my favorite and its so good!  Overall supporter of  healthy skin, Cucumber water can help soothe your skin from the inside out. Staying hydrated helps your body to flush out toxins and maintain a healthy complexion. Cucumbers are also high in pantothenic acid or vitamin B-5, which has been used to treat acne.  Lemon is a natural PH balancer.  It helps to regulate the acidity in the stomach, and helps with natural alkaline stability.
